General / Bookings

Online bookings can be made via our website at www.airporttransferedinburgh.com. In case of any enquiries or problems with online bookings, please contact us via email at info@airporttransferedinburgh.com or by phone on +447404677978.

Once a booking has been made and the pre-booked transfer has been paid for, you will receive an „ ATE journey request” email from Airport Transfer Edinburgh. It is your responsibility to make sure that the details stated are correct. Is any information is incorrect, you need to contact our customer support as soon as possible.

Once your pre-booked transfer request has been allocated to one of our private hire taxi drivers, you will receive an „ATE journey confirmation” email from Airport Transfer Edinburgh with all the necessary information about the pick-up location (eg. Edinburgh Airport pickup zone information), your private hire taxi driver’s name and contact details.

The online booking will be confirmed from the moment you receive your online booking confirmation email. Full payment of the fee will be required at the time of online booking and the online booking will only be confirmed once we have received the full payment.

Please, have this confirmation email with you at the time of the pre-booked transfer. This is essential for your travel with us.

Online bookings must be made at least 24 hours before the time of your transfer. If you need to make a booking less than 24 hours prior to your requested transfer time, please contact our customer support first and they will help you to find out if we can arrange you a private hire taxi driver.

If your online booking has been made less than 24 hours before your pre-booked transfer, the online booking will be automatically cancelled and a 5% administration (transaction) fee will be charged before we issue a refund.

Please make sure you give us your correct arrival day and time into the United Kingdom (eg. Edinburgh Airport) and not your departing details. If your flight is going to be seriously delayed, please inform our customer support or your private hire taxi driver as soon as possible, so we can help you reorganize your pre-booked transfer.

All card payments are processed securely by SumUp. During your payment, the system may offer you an opportunity to save your card details for later use. This is always offered by SumUp. Please note, that you will still need to provide some security information even if you use your saved card at payment.

Cancellations

Airport Transfer Edinburgh is happy to accept any cancellation no questions asked as long as 24 hours notice is provided by you. However, there will be a small, 5% administration (transaction) charge. Any cancellations must be made by emailing our customer support at info@airporttransferedinburgh. com. Once the cancellation of your transfer has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email from us.

If the distance of the pre-booked transfer you have booked exceeds 250 miles, the deadline will change from 24 hours to 36 hours. We issue you with a refund as long as 36 hours notice is provided by you. However, there will be a small, 5% administration (transaction) charge. Any cancellations must be made by emailing our customer support at info@airporttransferedinburgh.com. Once the cancellation of your pre-booked transfer has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email from us.

We are not able to provide you with a refund if you do not show up for your confirmed and paid pre-booked transfer. A ‘no show’ means that you haven’t contacted
your private hire taxi driver about any delays. You need to contact your private hire taxi driver either before your departure or after the first hour from your actual landing at the airport (eg. Edinburgh Airport).

We are not able to provide you with a refund if you do not inform us about the cancellation at least 24 hours before your transfer, or at least 36 hours before your transfer if you have booked a distance over 250 miles.

In the event that the transfer is cancelled on our part for any reason, the
amount paid in advance will be refunded in full.

Pricing

Your quotes for the requested transfer are based on the distance, number of passengers and suitcases and the time of travel. Should you have any special, extra requirement, please inform us via email, Whatsapp or phone. See further details below at the ’Special enquiries’ section.

Waiting time

If our private hire taxi driver picks you up at the Edinburgh Airport, we always allow a standard 1 hour waiting time for free, starting from the actual landing time of your flight at Edinburgh Airport. Regardless of the reason, any further waiting will be charged at £0.50/minute. This will be payable through a SumUp payment link, which will be sent to you by our customer support. This allows you the pay the waiting time fee in one simple step.

For all other pre-booked transfer, we allow 5 minutes waiting time for free, starting from the agreed pick up time. Any further waiting time (either from the agreed pick up time or for any stop during your pre-booked transfer) will be charged at £0.50/minute. This will be payable through a SumUp payment link, which will be sent to you by our customer support. This allows you the pay the waiting time fee in one simple step.

Special enquiries

Should you have any special enquiries regarding you pre-booked transfer with us, please don’t hesitate to contact our customer support. We always aim to meet the
needs of our passengers as best as we can. We can provide child seat by prior arrangement. Transport of animals is also possible by prior arrangement. We can also provide Meet&Greet service for Edinburgh Airport collections. In case you wish to receive this service, please let our customer support know by contacting them.

If you wish to change your route during a pre-booked transfer that has already started, please contact our customer support immediately as we need to adjust the fare of your pre-booked transfer according to the changes. We reserve the right to deny any change of the existing route add this point, as our private hire taxi driver might have another pre-booked transfer, which prevents them to take you to your new destination. Adding special extras to your pre-booked transfer may result in additional cost to your transfer quote. In this case, our customer support will send you a SumUp payment link which allows you to pay the extra amount in only one simple step.

Luggage

We do not accept and kind of responsibility if the passenger and/or luggage requirements exceed the capacity of the pre-booked vehicle type. Please, do not hesitate contact our customer support if you need any assistance for planning you transfer.

The vehicle categories on our website allow you to select the suitable vehicle for the amount of passengers and suitcases. One suitcase equals 2 pieces of hand luggage. For example, a ‘Sedan’ category vehicle can carry up to 3 passengers and 3 suitcases OR 3 passengers and 6 hand luggages.

Insurance

Each pre-booked transfer provided by our private hire taxi drivers is covered by appropriate insurance. Therefore, all bookings are required to be made online on our website or through customer support so we can make sure that you are adequately insured during your transfer. However, we always recommend each customer to have appropriate travel insurance.

Tolls

All tolls are included in your online quotes.

Edinburgh Airport pick up

If you have arranged an airport pick up from Edinburgh Airport, please carefully read our detailed instructions below to help you find your private hire taxi driver as easily as possible.

  • Once you have passed through passport inspection at Edinburgh Airport and collected your luggages, please call your private hire taxi driver on the previously supplied phone number so your private hire taxi driver can prepare to welcome you at the Edinburgh Airport pick up area.
  • Please, also inform your private hire taxi driver if any delay occurs due to lost baggage or anything else.
  • After you contacted your private hire taxi driver, walk to the terminal exit of Edinburgh Airport.
  • When arriving to the arrival hall, turn left and walk through the terminal building of Edinburgh Airport.
  • Once outside of the terminal building of Edinburgh Airport, turn right, walking towards the covered walkway.
  • Once you reach the covered walkway, turn left and proceed for 10 meters the cross over all three zebra crossings towards the multi storey car park of Edinburgh Airport.
  • Turn left at the end of the zebra crossings then the Edinburgh Airport pickup zone will be on your right.
  • Your private hire taxi driver will meet you at the Edinburgh Airport pickup zone within a few minutes.

You can find all the above information in your confirmation email to help you to meet your private hire taxi driver as easily as possible. Please keep this confirmation email with you at all times.

If you have any questions regarding the above instructions or don’t find the Edinburgh Airport pick up area, please do not hesitate contact your private hire taxi driver or our customer support.

Amendments

If you need to make any sort of alteration to your pre-booked transfer, it must be made in advance by emailing or phoning our customer support. It must not be made with your allocated private hire taxi driver at the time of your pre-booked transfer.

Responsibility

Airport Transfer Edinburgh does not accept any kind of responsibility for missed flights due to traffic delays, accidents, vehicle problems, weather
conditions or any other, unforeseen circumstances. We always advise our passengers to arrive to the airport at least 2 hours prior to their flight departure time, allowing them to have enough time even in the case of any unexpected event.

However, you of – of course – can arrange your pre-booked airport transfer to anytime, but Airport Transfer Edinburgh do not accept any kind of responsibility for any missed flight due to this. Nor do we accept any responsibility for any consequential loss.

Other mixed conditions

Airport Transfer Edinburgh and our private hire taxi drivers reserve the right to refuse the transport of animals if it was not agreed upon online booking. Should you wish to
bring animals on board, please contact our customer support to discuss any details. All animals must be held in a suitable transport box at all times.

For the sake of our passengers’ safety, all luggages are required to be securely placed in the boot of the vehicle. Please, take this into account when selecting the vehicle.

We reserve the right to provide a higher capacity vehicle then the original vehicle if your chosen category is unavailable.

Our private hire taxi drivers also reserve the right to deny the transfer of anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or anyone whose behavior can be dangerous to our private hire taxi driver.

If not otherwise stated, we assume you need a standard collection for your pre-booked transfer. If you need any special enquiries, please inform our customer support. See further details below ’Special enquiries’ section.

The exact route of your pre-booked transfer will be based on the current traffic conditions of the day and will be assessed and decided by your allocated private hire taxi driver.

Online bookings made for the following dates will be subject to an additional 50% surcharge: 24 th December, 25 th December, 26 th December, 31 st December, 1 st January.

Privacy Statement

Please note, that some personal information, such as your name, email addres and telephone number is required when booking your transfer. However, we ensure that the data is used solely for the purpose of processing the booking and will not be disclosed to another party. The personal data provided will be deleted from our system after your transfer. All information requested will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2019) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Jurisdiction

This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with UK law and you and Airport Transfer Edinburgh each agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK Courts in respect of any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with this Agreement. You agree to compensate and defend us fully against any claims or legal proceedings brought against us by any other person as a result of your breach of these Terms & Conditions.
